The Europaradweg R1 runs through the region from the Netherlands via Vreden, Stadtlohn and Legden towards Coesfeld and Münster. The 100 Castles Route is also easy to explore from Legden. Nearby attractions include Haus Egelborg, Ahaus Water Castle and Varlar Castle.
Our guesthouse is also ideally located for exploring the region by car. Visit nearby Ahaus with its impressive Baroque water castle or explore the district town of Coesfeld. Shopping enthusiasts can easily reach the Designer Outlet Ochtrup as well as the Dutch cities of Enschede and Winterswijk. Culture lovers can take a day trip to Münster, the City of Peace of Westphalia, and visit the impressive St. Paul's Cathedral.
You can also discover Gescher, known as the town of bells, the peaceful village of Rosendahl with the famous Holtwicker Ei, or Heek-Nienborg with its music academy near the A31 motorway. Cyclists and nature lovers will find attractive destinations in Stadtlohn, Vreden-Zwillbrock and Gronau, home to the well-known rock'n'popmuseum.
Schöppingen, Südlohn-Oeding, Billerbeck and Metelen are also within easy reach for day trips or business appointments. In Billerbeck, for example, the impressive Ludgerus Cathedral is well worth a visit, while the Metelen Land Railway Museum is an interesting destination for families and railway enthusiasts.
